A Magnificent Magazine Makes Me Merry
Recently, I renewed a subscription to that fount of timely commentary, discerning criticism, culture, and humor: The New Yorker magazine. You can purchase a year’s worth of these weeklies for 52 bucks; a sweet deal in my opinion. I usually read the short stories, the reviews and the Shouts and Murmurs column up front, then move on to an interesting article or three while perusing the cartoons and poetry along the way. All in all it’s well worth the money, replete as this periodical is with quality writing on a myriad of subject matter.
